Summary
This video explains how to prime the paint pump before starting production. The process flushes out solvent, loads paint into the system, and restores proper pressure to the machine and guns.
Quick Guide
Preparation
Verify air supply is OFF by turning the air regulator down to zero.
Open the L-port (ball) valve to relieve pressure to the guns.
Confirm system pressure is at zero.
Prime the Pump
Place the pickup tube into the paint container.
Optional: Stroke the pump briefly before inserting to clear drips and create an air break.
Allow the pump to draw paint through the system.
Solvent will drain out first from the return/drain line.
Continue until paint (not solvent) is flowing from the drain hose.
Restore Pressure
Close the L-port valve to stop the return flow.
This re-pressurizes the system toward the machine.
Turn air pressure back on.
Typical operating range: 4–5 bar.
Verify fluid pressure at the fluid regulator.
Ready for Production
Pump is primed
Paint is loaded
System is pressurized
Machine and guns are ready to spray
Key Notes
Always relieve pressure before priming.
Ensure solvent is fully purged before spraying.
Proper priming prevents contamination and pressure issues.
